Decades back about 300 years ago Devidas Maharshi used to worship Durgambika mata on the hills of Asalpha Village. With time Devidas Maharshi got absorbed in the feet of God. In 1963, some Tulu Kannadigas living in Asalpha Village started performing bhajan kirtan of Shree Dattatreya while performing the Mahamangalarati Durgambika Mata Avesha came in to the priest and said, I am in the form of a rock in this front hill.

Mother Durgambika instructed to bring her shakti rock here and worship it as I am happy with your Bhajan & prayers. As per the orders of Mata, a temple was built on the hill side, where the worship of Dattatreya Durgambika Anjaneya Nagashesh and Mata Chamundi is going on.

The temple is progressing step by step. At present the managing committee of this Devasthana is working religiously, socially and educationally under the President of Dharmadarshi Dev B Poojary. In the year 2015, the devasthana celebrated Golden Jubilee of the temple with grandeur and the committee organized Naga Mandalotsav for the first time in Mumbai and made a history and restore this sacred area. Now we have proposed to rebuild the entire Devasthana in stone. We request all Donors and devotees to join hands for this noble and religious cause and seek the blessings of the five auspicious powers of the Devasthana. We humbly request you to donate as many stone bricks as you can for the construction of this grand temple and seek the blessings of Devasthana Pancha Shakti.
